Message from the Bottle Coordinator

The Wallingford ELF program is looking for volunteers to help with our bottle recycling effort.

The Wallingford ELF Recycling Program gives students and their families a way to volunteer and raise money for a good cause as well as take part in the important effort of recycling. Please bring your returnable bottles to the Wallingford Transfer Station as part of this effort.

If you wish to become more involved in the recycling effort, you could volunteer for bottle pick up for a month. Signing up for this duty involves 1-2 hours a week spent picking the already bagged bottles up from a designated area at the Wallingford Transfer Station and delivering them to the Howe Redemption Center in Rutland. A pick- up truck works best although some volunteers have been successful with vans and large station wagons. The Redemption Center is located in back of the Howe Center and can most easily be accessed from Porter Street which is the first right after turning on to Park Street in front of BlockBuster on South Main Street. The attendants help volunteers unload the bottles and the ELF treasurer picks up the money later. This is a great way to help raise money for ELF so please consider joining our recycling team.

If you would like to become a Recycling Regular or a Super Sub, please contact Susan Taggart, Bottle Recycling Coordinator, at 446-3613. We are now scheduling the months of September through December.

Thank you to all of you who contribute bottles and time to this program.
