Report on the September 9th PTO meeting.

Hello,
 Thanks to every one that came to the meeting on the 9th. We had a very good turn out. I wanted to let everyone know that I definitely need people to come to these meeting so I am not the only person making decisions for the PTO. I also wanted to point out that it is ok not to be at all the meetings. We all have busy lives and things pop up last min. My point is that any little thing you can do to volunteers counts, just like voting.. every vote counts. The littlest things that people do for our school means a whole lot to me, our teachers, our kids and our community! I was very excited at open house how many people came to me and said they will have a hard time getting to the meetings but please call me if you do have something that comes up and we will see if I can do anything. I appreciated this very much. This showed me we have a town that really cares about their school. I made this e-mail list just for this reason. To keep people informed of decisions made in the meetings. You can e-mail me any time with questions, concerns, comments or ideas.  I really want to hear from you.

 Ok the meeting...

 The ice cream social went great! We had a big group of people that came and enjoyed some ice cream, met with our new principal, and socialized about their summers. Thank you to Cassie Ahearn, Joan Lattuca, Roberta Whipple, Cheryl Maniery, Jackie Proulx and Jason Morse for volunteering their time in setting up, serving ice cream and cleaning up.

Book fair will be held Oct 20, 21 and 22. Oct 22 is parent teachers conference. This will give parents a chance to come in, look and buy books.

Fall fundraiser is through Readers Digest this year . We will be sending packets home on the 13th of Oct. We will need them back Oct 24th so we have enough time to count and tally numbers to send out the orders. A pizza party will be rewarded to the class who has the bigest participation. Thank you Mrs Maniery and Mrs French for taking on this Job for me!

I talked with everyone at the meetings about communication. It is very important that we all work together  and communicate with each other. When some one is taking charge of an event I need to know what you are doing. Just keep me updated so I can relay information to everyone. Especially if you can't make the meeting around the time of the event. Communication takes more than one person to work!

We also talked about some new fundraiser like dinner nights and bingo nights. I want to have our first dinner in the beginning of November. Bingo hopefully will take place in January. 

I assigned homework (a bus driver assigning homework??? lol) I want everyone to think of a spring event to work towards so we can vote on it at the next meeting. If you can't make the meeting e-mail  your idea to me! I want to hear them so I can talk about them at the meeting.

Thank you Mrs Fredette for making a sign for the PTO board and letters for the banner!!

Last thing... Meetings will now be held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
 Next PTO Meeting is Oct 8th at 3:15 or 6:30. I will send a couple reminders.
