September 9th 2008 Meeting Minutes

Two meetings will be held the second Tuesday of every month in Mr. Stanley's first grade room with start times of 3:15 and 6:30. Childcare will be provided.

Next meeting: Wednesday, February 11, 2008, 3:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
We will be determing when events for this spring are happening. examples: teachers apperciation lunch and book fair.

PTO News:

The PTO also donated money toward this year's Vermont Council on the Arts' artist-in-residence program. Abenaki historian, storyteller, and basketmaker Judy Dow will visit WES in November and work in all the grade levels on different projects.

PTO conserves paper! This year the PTO enacted a one copy per household policy for correspondence home. The youngest child in a family of multiple WES students receives the one copy for the household.

The Four Winds Nature Study trainings are the first Tuesday of each month excluding December at the Mt. Holly School Cafeteria at 8:30 am.

The Wallingford PTO is made up of a team of parents and teachers who are committed to sponsoring and funding quality co-curricular programs, community events, and equipment and supplies for the Wallingford Elementary School community. Programs which the Wallingford PTO funds/sponsors include: Teacher Mini-grants, Back to School Ice Cream Social, Spring Fever Week, RIF Program, Artist-in-Residence Programs, Holiday Gift Sale, Holiday Craft Fair Luncheon, Scholastic Book Fairs, Bicycle Safety Day, Staff Appreciation Day.
